Do I have to wear a sports bra under my tri suit?

Even if you have a small cup size, the compression support you receive from your tri suit may not be enough. Keep those girls in check and don’t let your bust hold you back during your race.

A suitable sports bra for triathlons will have the following key features:

No Padding – make sure you chose a sports bra that is made with light materials and fabrics as this will dry faster and feel less bulky under your suit.
Moisture Wicking – a good sports bra will always be made from moisture wicking fabrics.
High Impact Support – make sure the sports bra is designed for high impact activities to ensure your bust is getting the support it needs during each part of the triathlon.

The Tana Design

This exclusive range was designed in collaboration with Tana Ramsay, who has helped to iron out some of the issues facing female triathletes and their tri kit in the past.

These tri suits are sculpted to suit the curves and patterns of the female form. The unique designs allow women to perform more efficiently, maximising the flow around the body and improving swim speed.

Proceeds from each sale will be donated to charities aligned with The Ramsay Foundation, helping to empower disadvantaged communities through partnerships and projects to enable lasting change.

Don't take our word for it - we caught up with Olympic Triathlete, Helen Jenkins to get her thoughts!

About Helen Jenkins

British born triathlete, Helen Jenkins, grew up loving to run and swim. At 15, she was given her first opportunity to do a triathlon, steadily progressing over the next few years to her first Junior World Champs in 2002. Helen’s first major win was in 2005 when she received two bronze medals in her first ever World cup events, qualifying her for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006.

Helen qualified for the British Olympic Triathlon team and became the World Champion, allowing her to compete in the 2008 Olympics. Unfortunately, she finished in 21st place, but gained invaluable experiences that lead to her later success.

In 2011, she won the World champs Series becoming World Champion for the second time. This gave her the opportunity to qualify for the 2012 Olympic games where she finished in 5th place.
