Please tell us a bit about you |
I’m 22 years old and a full time university student. I’m in my third year of an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Anthropology with Gender Studies. I am a disabled athlete and fulltime wheelchair user.
How do you try and stay active? |
I am a wheelchair racer and wheelchair basketball player. I train every day after university with the hope of representing Great Britain at the Paralympics one day. I compete in the British Wheelchair Basketball National League, Women’s League, and University League and I am a nationally classified wheelchair racer.
Do you find there are any challenges to stay active? |
I don’t find there are that many challenges to staying active. Some people tend to think maybe I can’t stay as active as other people due to being disabled but I think I prove them wrong.
Initial thoughts of the sports bra |
I really liked the look of the sports bra. It had a simple look but it wasn’t boring. It looks classy and nice.
How did the sports bra perform during the bounce test? |
Pretty well. I couldn’t test it fully for this but the activity I did use it for I felt well supported.
What activities did you participate in to test the sports bra? Did it give you enough support? |
I used the bra for the gym, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair racing. I felt well supported and comfortable when wearing it for all three of these activities. Particularly for wheelchair racing where my shoulders, arms and chest are moving the most to get up to speed. This kneeling position which I am in for wheelchair racing and the motion means my chest is constantly being pushed in to my knees but with this sports bra on I felt fully supported and protected. Some of my other sports bra are quite thin and so there is more of an impact on my chest with them. This wasn’t the case with this sports bra, I felt fully supported and protected.
What feature did you most like about the sports bra? Any that you didn’t like? |
I loved the front fastening zip and the padded straps as a lot of my other sports bras have shoulder straps that can get irritating and dig in after wearing them for a long time.
Did you have any trouble getting the sports bra on or off? |
Due to restricted movement in my shoulders I often find it difficult to get sports bras on and off but with this bra I didn’t have any problems. The front fastening zip really made it easier rather than having to get it over my head.
Would you recommend this sports bra? |
I would definitely recommend this sports bra as it was comfortable and supportive and also easy to get on and off. It also had a really nice look that was quite simple. The feel of the bra was also really soft and felt like good quality material.
Did you feel that the sports bra washed well? |
So far it has washed well and didn’t fade or show any signs of wear
